OOTD: Fashion Week Selection

Downtown events, parties, shopping and amazing fashion shows…another edition of the Amsterdam Fashion Week came to an end. I did my best to share with you as much as possible about the events and I really hope you enjoyed this fashion week with me. In the end as promised I am sharing with you my outfit inspirations for each of the events I attended.
Let’s start with the opening party. The party was hosted at the Melkweg, one of the famous clubs in the heart of Amsterdam (more about this event you can find here). Since the evening started with a photo exhibition of a young photographer Henri Verhoef at Melkweg gallery hall and only later was followed by the party in the clubbing area, I selected an outfit that would fit for both of the occasions. I picked a skirt decorated with feathers and a vest looking top. I have accessorized the look with a neutral color tule scarf decorated with gemstones and, of course, my favorite “Yes/No” bag.

A fashion bazaar brought the second day of the Fashion Week Downtown. Favorite brands along with young designers and artists presented their exclusive creations to all fashion lovers at one of the most creative hotspots in Amsterdam, the Volkshotel (more about this event you can find here).
I knew it was going to be a long day,  so I needed something comfortable, yet nice. A grey top and flared pants a la 70s  were my pick for that day. BTW flared pants are trending this spring-summer! If you are following trends I would really recommend to get one! Since it was quite cold outside (even though it was sunny), a pink down jacket and a lovely hat came handy.

Fashion & Digital Art came together on day 6 of the Amsterdam Fashion Week Downtown.  A beautiful fashion presentation by the designer Dorhout Mees and an amazing exposition on digital art by the Lumen Prize Exhibition were waiting us at the 5&33 gallery at the art’otel Amsterdam (more about this event you can find here).
A little black neoprene dress accessorized with a necklace from yellow & black suede pieces were my choice of the evening.

The local goods market with Dutch designer clothing and accessories was on day 10 of the Amsterdam Fashion Week. A striped coat teamed with striped tights, black leather top, white skirt and my favorite burgundy color flats were the choice for this shopping afternoon.

One of the last fashion shows of the week was the catwalk by Dorhout Mees. The catwalk was hosted in the Gashouder – a former factory building, where usually most of the Amsterdam Fashion Week catwalks are being organized (more about this event you can find here).
My outfit for that evening was inspired by ballet costumes. When I was a child, I used to dream about becoming a ballerina just so I could wear one of these beautiful tutu skirts. I told a friend of mine, fashion designer Larisa Radchenko about it and she came up with an idea of an outfit for me: a sheer tutu skirt and a fluffy top.
