One more week and the winter is over. Finally we can hide away warm sweaters, heavy jackets and winter boots, making space for light spring/summer clothes. It’s also a perfect time to refresh our wardrobes with new trending pieces of the season. So let’s check out all the “dos and don’ts” of the coming Spring/Summer 2018.
From the 5th of July 2017 the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Paris, France) is hosting a unique retrospective exhibition dedicated to the 70’s anniversary of the House of Dior.
The exhibition reveals not only the ten years of Christian Dior’s creative activities but also the creations of six artistic directors that followed Dior: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chiuri.
The exhibition presents around fifteen models by each of Dior’s six successors in a series of six galleries organized in chronological and thematic order.
The aim is to show a heritage and reveal the richness of Dior’s creative universe. Alongside the three hundred dresses, the exhibition gathered together also numerous documents (sketches, photographs, manuscripts and advertisements) and objects (hats, jewellery, shoes, perfumes), as well as sets of paintings and pieces of furniture from the eighteenth century to Art Nouveau and Surrealism.
The exhibition includes also the miniature version of iconic Dior gowns created by the House of Dior in 2013.
A fun, colorful scarf is undoubtedly one of the most important accessories in everyone’s wardrobe. It’s a great way to dress up a simple outfit and give an extra touch to any style. Sometimes, however, scarves are not only a beautiful fashion attribute. When combined with art, a simple scarf transforms into a special way of communication with the world. Feelings, culture, values and even history can be traced in prints and colors of the scarves.
Last week in Yerevan (Armenia) I had a very interesting talk with the founder of “Artuyt”, Arevik Arakelyan. Founded in 2016, “Artuyt” aims to promote the exquisite artworks of Armenian contemporary artists within the country and beyond. Colorful scarves produced by “Artuyt” are the exact replicas of their artworks. Each scarf is a unique masterpiece that guides the wearer into a magical world of Armenian art.
Even though the winter has not yet given it’s credentials to spring, the new spring-summer collections are actively hitting the stores.
Today we are going to discuss the new 2017 collection of one of the definite must haves of the summer – UZURII flip-flops. Next to the big variety of colors, the brand also offers new models this season.
What I like the most about Uzurii filp flops is that they are not only beautiful and easy to combine, but also very comfortable to wear. I believe that comfort is as important as being dressed to the nines. So, let’s have a look on the inspiration behind the new arrivals from this beautiful label.
