Exactly one year ago, on the 29th of December, I published my first post on StyleBlog’N.
It was the newly launched Chanel exhibition that became a great inspiration for my first post, giving the start to one of the most adventurous years of my life.
From then on, I felt like a snowball going downhill. My very first fashion show, first outfit post, first photography lesson…..and, of course, my first readers!
Months flew by, one post followed another and here I am, a year later, looking back to this crazy adventure and being thankful for this great opportunity.
In this first anniversary of the blog let’s review some of the highlights of my blogging year.
My first fashion show. Mattijs van Berger presented a van Gogh inspired collection at the opening ceremony of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam in January 2014. Please don’t judge too harsh the quality of the photos. Back then I didn’t have my good camera yet.
My interviews with menswear fashion designers Kim Bakker, women and kids clothing designer Catta Donkersloot and silk artist Iveta Burenkovaite were a great opportunity to learn about the industry from those creating fashion.
“Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” Marilyn Monroe.
In March I visited one of the most amazing exhibitions of the year. More than 400 shoes of different decades at The S.H.O.E.S in the Rotterdam Kunsthal.
Fashion and technology was another topic of my interest. Inspired by Bradley Quinn’s book “Fashion Futures”, my first post on this topic featured some of the pioneers in the filed. In October I shared the futuristic creations of contemporary designers from the exhibition “The Future of Fashion is Now” hosted at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
A month later I started to cooperate with a new, yet fast growing fashion magazine Modelboard. Soon after, my first article “Chanel Craftsmanship Feast” was published in the magazine.
In the beginning of December, in collaboration with fashion designers, an online platform with one of a kind designer clothing and accessories Mix-And-Matches.com was launched.
Speaking of clothing, I couldn’t have left out the outfit inspirations during the year, hereby sharing my favorites.
In the end I would like to take the opportunity to thank all my readers for being with me and supporting me throughout this year! Your encouraging comments and messages have been a great motivation for me to continue what I have started. From a couple of views in the beginning, I close the year with more than 10.000 views of my blog. I am really happy and proud to have you all by my side!
I wish you all a successful 2015! Happy New Year and stay in touch for new fashion adventures with StyleBlog’N!
